Seaside Musings.....

Enjoying our first full, free day here in Valencia, Spain, I camped out on the beach for the majority of the day soaking up rays - here are some random  thoughts that flitted through my head along with the sand:
1) People are people everywhere you go on earth - husbands are still hen-pecked by their  wives (to my right), families still enjoy spending time together (to my left) and babies always bring out a smile in passers by.
2) Fact: There are more people in Europe with tatoos and piercings than without.  Said tatoos become unfortunate as the body ages....
3) I'm pretty sure that the whole "Europeans don't have the same views on nakedness that Americans do" is actually a myth perpetuated by European men so that the women will keep taking their tops off - there is, in fact, already a universal language, it's called gawking.
4) Random acts of kindness are always appreciated.
5) Young boys will, when asked, kick a soccer ball to a stranger who wants to briefly join in a pick up game - even if it's a American woman wearing a big, floppy hat....
6) People everywhere listen to American pop music - I'm glad the latest popular hits are actually pretty good, because they are being listened to worldwide
7) Corn roasted over an open fire with sea salt is incredibly yummy...
and last but not least,
8) Diet coke, especially mas fresas, is, in any country, still the nectar of the Gods.

Here is the Matt video we are doing our own version of...

Where the Hell is Matt?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY

So click on this link and you will see breathtaking views and laugh and at times get chill bumps with just how cool it is to be dancing along with one guy as he visits all these amazing places on this ball we are all spinning around on called earth. So we will salsa, but we will have our very own version of awesome places we see - what if we go viral?  This is the video I was trying to show you when the computer wouldn't connect at the meeting - it's about 4 minutes - watch it.  And, be thinking of a great theme song for us - what about "sweet life?"

Awesome idea - it came to me in a dream!

Ok guys, I am just so excited about our meeting today that I was dreaming about it, and since I was working on setting up my own blog till the wee hours of the morning, I was a bit delirious anyway - so be prepared - this is goofy!  Ok, so one of my favorite things to follow is "Where the Hell is Matt" - he is the awesome guy who I saw in an interview one time and he said that he is really just pretty lazy and didn't want to get a job, and all he wanted to do was travel the world and visit with all the interesting people on this planet - well, of course, I immediately liked this guy because those are my own life ambitions  - anyway, he literally travels the world and films himself just dancing in different places.  So, combine my love of "Where the Hell is Matt" and factor in my new-found exercise obsession (no results yet, but I'm working on it) of ZUMBA and my delirious state, and presto- this idea is born.  Also, giving credit where credit is due, one of our group members, Asia Todd, posted a memo to her friends going out on mission trips to do this, so this is actually her idea that I am stealing -
OK - so enough preface -
We are going to not just take group pictures at all the major places we visit - that would be so.... ORDINARY! We are going to film our group as we SALSA - then produce our very own film with our adventures.  Wear your dancing shoes tonight - the first footage begins here.....
